I/O modules: connecting controls, sensors and circuits to digital switching
An I/O module interfaces between the boat’s control system and physical signals: buttons, sensors, measurements, control outputs or circuits to be driven. It centralizes electrical functions, allows supervision over a communication bus and automates certain actions.
Inputs, outputs and signals
To acquire commands or logical states, the MasterBus Digital Input adds input channels to the MasterBus network. On the CZone side, the Signal Interface SI handles input signals, while the Output Interface OI and the Combined Output Interface COI drive outputs within an NMEA 2000/CZone architecture.
Communication bridges and controls
Some modules link two ecosystems or translate commands. The MasterBus bridge interface module connects CZone and MasterBus. The Switch Control Interface SCI integrates physical controls, while the Garmin Boat Switch provides digital switching logic for common onboard circuits.
Measurement and supervision
Measurement modules provide the system with usable data for display, alarms or control logic. The AC voltage transducer for Digital & CZone reports AC voltage measurements, and the Meter Interface MI handles counting and measurement functions according to the installed architecture.
Selection criteria
Check the bus used, the number of channels, signal type, connectors, onboard voltage, installation environment and desired supervision logic. To complete the architecture, see the data switching, C-Zone, electricity, electrical wiring and sensors collections.
