Architecte

Jean-Baptiste Epron

Graphic designer of offshore racing boats for 20 years

Jean-Baptiste Epron is a graphic designer specializing in the visual branding of racing sailboats. He designs hull graphics, integrates sponsor logos, and crafts the visual identity of the boats — not their architecture or ergonomics. A former racer (two Jules Verne Trophies on Orange, two Solitaires du Figaro, last competitive season in 2009), he works from Paris, Lorient, and Finistère.

The profession

He takes the hull design from the naval architect (Verdier, VPLP, Manuard, Lombard...) and transforms it into a visible branding platform for sponsors: color selection, logo placement, patterns integrated into the hull and sails. Two to three months of work per project, with fees ranging from €1,000 to €30,000 depending on the boat size and complexity of the brief.

Skysat on board

Skysat equipped the Ocean Fifty Edenred 5, for which Epron designed the hull graphics.
