Jean-Baptiste Epron

Visual Identity and Deck Ergonomics in Service of Performance

Jean-Baptiste Epron holds a unique position in the nautical world: that of a designer specializing in the graphic identity and functional ergonomics of racing sailboats. His role goes beyond mere aesthetics; he works on the visual coherence of sponsorship projects and the operational layout of cockpits and living spaces for solo sailors.

His signature is based on a keen understanding of media and technical constraints. He is the image architect for the biggest offshore racing teams, ensuring optimal visibility for partners while respecting aerodynamics and the sailor's working ergonomics.

Iconic Projects

  • IMOCA Visual Identities: Design of the historic liveries for boats such as PRB (the iconic orange), Charal, and LinkedOut/Vulnerable.
  • Cockpit and Hatch Design: Collaboration with architects to optimize skipper protection, halyard routing, and navigation instrument readability.
  • Fleet Identity: Creation of complete graphic charters for teams like Gitana Team (Ultim Edmond de Rothschild).
  • Interior Styling: Functional layout of living units on high-end racing-cruising vessels.
