SR Structures

British excellence in high-performance composite construction

SR Structures is a British shipyard specializing in the construction of high-performance composite sailboats, based in Lymington (Hampshire, UK). Founded in 2023 by Sam Pellow and Ross Hotchkiss, two recognized experts in composite construction, the yard has taken over the former premises of Green Marine and employs around 15 specialists in advanced composite construction. SR Structures positions itself as a benchmark player for offshore racing sailboats and high-end cruiser-racer projects, benefiting from the British nautical ecosystem (Solent, proximity to equipment manufacturers, skippers, and architects).

The yard masters all advanced composite construction processes: vacuum epoxy resin infusion, hand lamination, pre-preg carbon structures, and has recognized expertise in the construction, modification, and repair of racing sailboats (Volvo Ocean Race, TP52, IMOCA 60, Class40). SR Structures' capabilities include the manufacturing of full pre-preg carbon racing sailboats, large complex composite structures, and epoxy-infused boats of various scales. The yard also works for the automotive, civil, and naval defense sectors, demonstrating the versatility and technical expertise of its teams.

Flagship achievements

  • Lift 45 Maxitude : The yard's first major project, a high-performance Marc Lombard cruiser-racer
  • Volvo Ocean Race sailboats : Modifications and repairs of offshore racing boats
  • TP52, IMOCA 60, Class40 : Expertise in offshore racing sailboat construction and repair
  • Complex composite structures : Projects for naval defense, automotive, civil infrastructure

News and outlook

SR Structures has made a spectacular launch with the Lift 45 Maxitude, the young yard's first major project. The boat's exceptional performance from its very first season (3rd RORC Transatlantic 2026 IRC1) testifies to the team's execution quality and technical expertise. The yard is experiencing strong demand for custom cruiser-racer and racing sailboat projects, driven by the recognition of British build quality and the founders' experience in major offshore racing programs. SR Structures is investing in eco-design (bio-based resins, composite recycling) and is developing its capabilities to handle larger projects (50-60 feet). Proximity to Lymington, the British capital of high-performance sailing, ensures privileged access to the best equipment manufacturers, riggers, and nautical industry specialists.
