Detailed description
Detailed description
The AC Antennas CELmar0-1 marine VHF antenna is a robust omnidirectional communication solution designed for demanding maritime environments. Made of stainless steel in steel gray, this 1-meter antenna stands out for its reliability and ability to maintain clear communications on the marine VHF band (156.0–162.5 MHz), while also covering DAB (160–250 MHz) and FM (88–108 MHz) frequencies. Unlike traditional fiberglass models like the brand’s CX4 series, the CELmar0 uses a metal whip offering excellent flexibility and minimal wind load for a weight of just 0.36 kg.
Radiofrequency performance
Engineered for optimal transmission, the CELmar0-1 operates at a nominal power of 100 watts. It delivers a marine gain of 3 dB (0 dBd) and a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) below 1.5:1, ensuring excellent signal efficiency without power loss. Its nominal impedance is 50 ohms with vertical polarization. Note that unlike some specific models in the lineup, this antenna is not DC-shorted. Connection to the communication system is via a standard female UHF socket.
Mechanical design and installation
Built to withstand harsh offshore conditions, this antenna resists extreme winds up to 45 m/s (101 mph). IP66-certified for waterproofing against breaking waves, it remains fully operational across an industrial temperature range from -55 °C to +60 °C. The CELmar0-1 version ships with the N163F mounting bracket for immediate onboard integration. The antenna base uses a standard 5/8-inch thread with 24 threads per inch (TPI), ensuring a strong and durable mechanical attachment.
