Detailed description
Detailed description
The Attwood 14230-3 4-way battery selector switch is designed for flexible management of marine power systems. This single-pole, three-position switch offers four distinct connection modes: battery one, battery two, both batteries in parallel, or both off. It is compatible with DC electrical systems from 6V to 32V.
Electrical Ratings and Built-in Safety
The Attwood 14230-3 can handle continuous current of 300 amperes at 6V DC and 150 amperes at 12V DC. For installation safety, it includes an alternator excitation circuit disconnect feature. This prevents potentially damaging voltage spikes when switching power sources. The selector positions are clearly defined by a positive-click mechanism, ensuring precise operation.
Rugged Design for Marine Environments
Constructed with a bakelite housing, this switch features brass terminals and nuts, complemented by copper washers. This material combination is chosen for durability and corrosion resistance in marine environments. Its physical dimensions are 13.97 cm (5-1/2") in diameter and 6.98 cm (2-3/4") in depth. Installation is performed using #10 screws via a bolted mounting method.
