WS310 Wired Interface

The B&G WS310 wired interface is the essential connection component for integrating the WS310 wind sensor/vane into an NMEA 2000® network. It ensures the conversion and transmission of raw sensor data to compatible displays and autopilots. Designed for easy installation and maximum reliability, this interface is the standard wired solution for the B&G wind sensor range.

NMEA 2000 and 0183 network connectivity

The WS310 interface connects directly to the NMEA 2000 network via its Micro-C port, with a LEN (Load Equivalency Number) of 1. It also offers compatibility with older systems thanks to its ability to transmit data in NMEA 0183 format. The supported NMEA 0183 frames are MWV (wind speed and angle) and R.

Electrical and physical characteristics

This compact unit operates on a 12V DC power supply, tolerating a voltage range of 9 to 16V DC. Its power consumption is 15mA at 12V DC. Its dimensions are 90 x 20 x 10 mm and it weighs 0.114 kg, allowing for discreet installation. The magnetic compass safety distance is 300 mm.

Robust design for the marine environment

Built to withstand marine conditions, the WS310 wired interface is IPX7 waterproof certified. It operates in a temperature range of -15°C to +55°C and can be stored between -20°C and +60°C. Its compliance with IEC/EN 60945 standards attests to its robustness and reliability for intensive marine use.
