Detailed description
Detailed description
The BEP 778-T2S-600 class T fuse holder is a high-performance electrical protection solution designed for demanding marine systems. Capable of handling currents from 450 to 600 A at 50 VDC, it stands out with its high interrupting rating, ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 A. This robustness makes it an essential component for the safety of installations powering high-consumption equipment such as powerful inverters, bow thrusters, or large-capacity battery banks.
Design and Technical Specifications
With compact dimensions of 147 x 49 x 61 mm and a weight of 382 g, the 778-T2S-600 fuse holder is designed for optimized integration. It features 10 mm (3/8") connection studs for cables and 12 mm (0.47") studs specifically suited for class T fuses, ensuring a secure and low-resistance connection. The two additional studs provide versatile connection points for auxiliary or bypass applications, increasing system flexibility.
Comparison and Application
Compared to a standard BEP ANL-TP fuse holder (such as the model supporting 35-500 A with a 3,000 A DC interrupting rating), the 778-T2S-600 offers significantly superior protection in terms of interrupting rating. This feature is critical for circuits where very high short-circuit currents may occur, ensuring rapid and safe interruption to prevent equipment damage and fire risks. It is recommended for installations requiring maximum overcurrent protection where ANL or MIDI/MEGA fuses would be insufficient. This model is part of BEP's current solutions for marine energy management, complementary to CZone systems for an integrated and secure electrical architecture.
