Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for monitoring embedded electrical systems, the Blue Sea 8003 DC analog voltmeter provides accurate voltage measurement. It operates within an input range of 8 to 16V DC with a current draw of only 1 milliampere, making it suitable for marine applications where energy efficiency is critical. The clear analog display ensures quick reading of circuit voltage, with an accuracy of 3% of full scale.
Integration and installation
This voltmeter, the standard model PN 8003 from Blue Sea Systems, differs from the micro-voltmeter PN 8028 in its face dimensions (66.68 mm) and mounting hole (53.95 mm). It is designed for surface or panel mounting, fitting into various environments. The display is backlit by LEDs, drawing approximately 16 mA on a 12V DC system (red) and 20 mA on a 24V DC system (orange), providing nighttime visibility. Installation requires wiring of at least 16 AWG and a 1-amp fuse on the positive circuit, avoiding series mounting.
Energy management and durability
The Blue Sea Systems 8003 voltmeter is an essential tool for proactive battery management, allowing measurement of open-circuit voltage, a key indicator of state of charge. The needle can be calibrated via an adjustment screw. Blue Sea Systems offers a customer satisfaction guarantee on its products. The device must be mounted in a location protected from water at the front and rear, and away from flammable vapors, as it is not ignition-protected.
