Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for full integration of energy management aboard, the BM100 battery monitor from Digital Yacht is a monitoring solution dedicated to NMEA 2000 networks. This system combines a Victron Energy SmartShunt, known for its accuracy, with a Digital Yacht-developed veKonvert NMEA 2000 interface acting as a universal gateway for VE.Direct data. The BM100 allows detailed battery information to be displayed on any compatible NMEA 2000 multifunction display (MFD), regardless of brand—Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, or Navico.
Accurate Monitoring and NMEA 2000 Integration
The BM100 provides precise measurements of voltage, current, and DC capacity for 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. It delivers real-time data such as battery voltage, charge/discharge current, state of charge (SoC), time remaining before depletion, and historical data including deepest discharge and number of charge/discharge cycles. In addition to the included 500A SmartShunt, 1000A and 2000A versions are available for more demanding systems. The system is self-powered via the NMEA 2000 bus, simplifying installation.
Extended Connectivity and Advanced Features
In addition to integration with MFDs via NMEA 2000, the BM100 offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity, enabling detailed monitoring and analysis on smartphones or tablets. Configurable alarms for low voltage and low capacity can be set up. The monitor can also track the voltage of a secondary battery, such as a starter battery. Installation is simplified by a "plug 'n play" approach, though an adapter cable may be required for non-standard NMEA 2000 networks, such as Raymarine’s SeaTalkNG (P/No A06045). Internal DIP switches allow precise binary configuration (e.g., 0=0000 to 15=1111). The system indicates its status via LEDs (Power, N2K, VE.Dir, Error).
