Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for mid to deep water fishing, the bronze through-hull transducer Garmin Airmar B265LM is a 1 kW CHIRP transducer offering precise target separation and bottom discrimination. Positioned as a premium solution for demanding anglers, it stands out from traditional transducers with its dual-band CHIRP technology and ability to cover an extended frequency range.
Advanced CHIRP performance
The Airmar B265LM transducer operates on two distinct frequency bands: a low frequency (42 to 65 kHz) for depths up to 914 meters (3,000 feet) and a mid frequency (85 to 135 kHz) for maximum depths of 457 meters (1,500 feet). This versatility allows detection to be adapted to conditions and target species. While the low band is optimized for deep-water scanning with a 25° to 16° beam, the mid band offers a wider beam (16° to 11°) for identifying suspended fish near the bottom or in the water column. This full CHIRP capability of 73 kHz on a single transducer surpasses the performance of fixed-frequency transducers, such as the B260 or SS260 models, by providing superior resolution and detail.
Design and integration
Made of bronze, this transducer is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls. It is supplied with a fairing block (High-Performance Fairing) that significantly improves wideband performance and maintains clear readings even at speeds above 30 knots (34 MPH). The fairing block allows installation on hulls with a deadrise angle up to 20°. An integrated fast-response water temperature sensor provides essential data to locate thermal variations, often associated with fish concentration zones. Airmar’s Xducer ID® technology ensures automatic recognition of the transducer by compatible Garmin chartplotters, enabling a "plug-and-play" installation without complex manual configuration. The cable length is 9 meters for Mix and Match™ versions (with a 1-meter adapter cable) or 39 feet (approximately 11.9 meters) for bare-wire versions.
