Designed for precise navigation in the English Channel region, the Garmin BlueChart® g3 HXEU001R electronic chart combines Garmin and Navionics® data to provide detailed coverage. This microSD™/SD™ Card mapping medium is optimized for Garmin chartplotters and includes advanced features for recreational boaters and anglers.
Geographic Coverage and Bathymetric Detail
The HXEU001R chart covers the British coast from Felixstowe to the Isles of Scilly, including Dover, the Solent, and the Isle of Wight. It extends up the Thames from Twickenham to the North Sea. On the French side, coverage spans from Dunkirk to L'Aber Wrac'h, including Rouen and the Channel Islands. The charts feature 1-foot bathymetric contours, providing a detailed representation of underwater structures, wrecks, and hazards. HD bathymetric detail ensures clear visualization for bottom identification.
Advanced Navigation Features
The BlueChart® g3 HXEU001R chart integrates Auto Guidance technology, which calculates and displays a suggested route based on depth and air draft preferences. The depth range delimitation function enables high-resolution coloring of up to 10 depth ranges, facilitating quick identification of target areas. Customizable shallow-water shading helps avoid low-draft zones. The chart also includes tide and current information, as well as local fishing maps. For a paper-chart-like view, NOAA raster charts were available for free download via the ActiveCaptain® app, with labeled points of interest including coordinates. However, NOAA raster charts are no longer available for new downloads since 2024. Previously downloaded charts may remain accessible for an indefinite period.
This chart’s extended compatibility with Garmin ECHOMAP and GPSMAP series, as well as chartplotters with an SD card slot, ensures seamless data integration and simplified use for marking productive structures and logging fishing waypoints.
