The Garmin Force® Kraken is Garmin's premium electric trolling motor, available here in a 63-inch (160 cm) shaft version with wireless remote control and an integrated GT56UHD-TR transducer. This all-in-one bundle positions the Force® Kraken as the most complete solution on the market for freshwater anglers requiring full integration between propulsion, sonar, and navigation.
A trolling motor designed for system integration
The Force® Kraken replaces the first-generation Force® Trolling Motor, retaining its base architecture while delivering more powerful propulsion and extended compatibility with the Garmin ecosystem. The GT56UHD-TR transducer integrated into the motor housing is a dual-beam high-definition (UHD) CHIRP-compatible transducer capable of delivering precise sonar images directly from the bow of the boat — where the motor is deployed. This setup eliminates interference from hull-mounted transducers and provides real-time water column readings under the bow without visible external cabling. The transducer cable runs inside the shaft, protected from impacts and wear. The GT56UHD-TR transducer is compatible with Garmin chartplotters equipped with CHIRP sonar ports (ECHOMAP™ UHD, GPSMAP® series, etc.).
Range comparison and positioning
The Force® Kraken 63" differs from the standard Force® Trolling Motor with increased thrust power and reinforced mechanical design, featuring a quick-release deployment mechanism and an electric servo-steering system — unlike manual-steering motors such as the Minn Kota Terrova or MotorGuide Xi5. Compared to the Minn Kota Ulterra, the Force® Kraken offers native integration with Garmin chartplotters via NMEA 2000 network and the ActiveCaptain® app, enabling automatic heading control and route management from the chartplotter. The 63" version suits mid-sized boats (up to approximately 7.5 m depending on boat weight), while Garmin also offers 75" and 90" versions for heavier vessels. The kit includes the wireless remote control and GT56UHD-TR transducer, eliminating the need for separate purchases of these essential accessories.
Installation and LiveScope™ compatibility
The Force® Kraken is designed to accommodate an optional LiveScope™ mount (sold separately), allowing installation of an LVS32, LVS34, or LVS62 transducer directly on the motor shaft. Two mounting templates are available depending on the motor generation (5/16" or 1/4" bolts), and a quick-release mounting plate kit (sold separately) is available to simplify deck installation/removal. Installation requires drilling the deck (9 mm bit) and access to the underside for nut installation — a task for an experienced installer. Internal wiring is fully managed via the junction box located in the top cap of the shaft.
