Designed for compatible Garmin chartplotters, the Garmin Inland waterways charts France, Lakes and rivers provide a comprehensive mapping solution for navigation on French inland waterways. They integrate Garmin and Navionics content for detailed coverage of lakes and rivers.
Coverage and chart detail
This product covers major French river systems such as the Adour, Garonne, Charente, Loire, Seine, Rhône, Sèvre-Nantaise, Somme, Meuse, Moselle and Saône. The Rhine is also included, from Basel (Switzerland) to Karlsruhe (Germany). Coverage extends to major lakes including Lake Geneva (Geneva), Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Biel and Lake Murten, as well as main canals including the Canal du Midi, Canal du Centre and Canal du Rhône au Rhin. Charts feature bathymetric contours down to 0.5 meters, enabling accurate representation of the seabed structure. Features such as depth shading (up to 10 color options) and shallow-water shading (with user-defined depth) facilitate identification of navigation and fishing zones.
Advanced features and updates
For route planning, Auto Guidance+ technology combines Garmin and Navionics automatic routing functions to suggest a route from dock to dock, passing through channels, coves and marina entrances. (This feature is for planning only and does not replace attentive navigation). The product includes a one-year subscription to daily chart updates, accessible via the ActiveCaptain® app or Navionics® chart installation software. After the first year, an active subscription is required to continue receiving these updates. Some features, such as high-resolution terrain shading, high-resolution satellite imagery, aerial photos, FishEye 3D view, MarinerEye 3D view and dynamic lake levels, are available with Vision+ charts.
