Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin GC™ 245 marine camera is a versatile monitoring solution designed to integrate with Garmin BlueNet™ and Garmin Marine Network navigation systems. Equipped with an adjustable lens module, it allows precise adjustment of the viewing angle, with 80 degrees of horizontal rotation, 62 degrees of vertical tilt, and 90 degrees of roll. This flexibility makes it ideal for various applications, whether monitoring the deck, engine room, or as an aid for stern maneuvering.
Advanced integration and connectivity
The system includes a black GVAM 10 housing that simplifies connection to the onboard network. This housing integrates a 2-meter Garmin BlueNet™ cable and a 2-meter power cable, simplifying installation. The GC™ 245 camera is compatible with Garmin GPSMAP® chartplotters and can be directly connected to a BlueNet plotter or a Garmin BlueNet 20 switch. For existing Garmin Marine Network systems, an adapter cable (sold separately, part no. 010-12531-01) is required to ensure compatibility, providing a smooth transition to Garmin’s new network technologies.
Optimized design and installation
Designed for flat-deck mounting, the GC™ 245 must be installed above the waterline. The black GVAM 10 housing requires installation in a ventilated, non-submersible location, at least 71 cm away from noisy electrical sources. An 8-meter coaxial cable is provided to connect the camera to the housing, with the option to use a longer cable (25 m, part no. 010-13026-02) for installations requiring greater reach. The detailed installation process, including the use of mounting templates and marine sealant, ensures a robust and watertight fixture, guaranteeing the reliability of the equipment in the marine environment.
