Designed for navigation in complex waters, Garmin marine charts for Central America and the Caribbean provide detailed coverage of coastal and inland areas. They extend from Cancún, Mexico, to Barranquilla, Colombia, including territories such as Cuba, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, San Andrés and Providencia, Lake Izabal, Río Dulce, and the entire Panama Canal. Coverage may also include the west coast of Mexico from Tijuana to Panama, the east coast from Panama to Brownsville, TX, and Caribbean zones such as the remote Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Lesser Antilles up to Grenada.
Advanced navigation and integrated data
These charts integrate Garmin and Navionics® content, offering comprehensive coverage and clarity of detail. Auto Guidance+™ technology calculates suggested dock-to-dock routes based on desired depth and air clearance. The depth gradient color function allows selecting up to 10 shaded depth ranges for quick visualization of target areas. 0.3-meter (1-foot) contours provide an accurate representation of the seabed structure, useful for fishing and navigation in shallow waters.
Features and updates
The shallow-water shading function allows setting a minimum depth, which is then highlighted on the chart to indicate areas to avoid. For premium versions such as Garmin Navionics Vision+, additional features include high-resolution terrain shading, overlayable high-resolution satellite imagery, and 3D views (MarinerEye View, FishEye View). A one-year subscription is included for daily chart updates via the ActiveCaptain® app, ensuring access to the most recent information. The ActiveCaptain® community also provides points of interest (POI) and recommendations shared by other navigators. For certain U.S. waters, NOAA raster charts are available for download via the ActiveCaptain® app. Charts are supplied on a microSD™/SD™ card and are compatible with a wide range of Garmin chartplotters.
