Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for coastal and inland navigation, Garmin marine charts provide detailed coverage of Denmark, Germany and the Polish coasts. This mapping integrates Garmin and Navionics data for accurate and clear representation of the North Sea and Baltic Sea waters, including specific areas such as the Kiel Canal, Szczecin Lagoon, the Elbe, the Kattegat, the island of Bornholm, as well as the ports of Hamburg and Copenhagen. Some versions also extend coverage to the southern and southwestern Baltic Sea of Sweden.
Advanced navigation features
The Auto Guidance+ technology offers suggested berth-to-berth routes, calculating a course based on desired depth and clearance while highlighting obstructions. This feature is intended for planning purposes and does not replace safe navigation practices. Garmin mapping also includes depth shading with up to 10 color options to highlight target depths. Detailed contours down to 0.5 meters provide an accurate representation of the seabed structure, improving fishfinder readings and understanding of complex areas such as swamps, canals, ports and marinas.
Customization and updates
Shallow water shading clearly indicates areas to avoid by setting a custom depth threshold. A one-year subscription is included, providing access to daily updates via the ActiveCaptain® app, ensuring the use of the most recent information. After the first year, an active subscription is required to continue benefiting from these updates. Users can customize their display with different map layers and overlay combinations.
Premium options (depending on version)
Premium versions, such as Garmin Navionics Vision+ or BlueChart g3 Vision HD, offer additional graphical content. This includes high-resolution seabed relief shading combining colors and shadows for a clearer view of the seabed structure, as well as high-resolution satellite imagery downloadable for improved situational awareness. Aerial photos of ports, marinas, bridges and navigation landmarks are also available. These versions provide 3D views, such as FishEye view (underwater seabed perspective) and MarinerEye view (3D representation of the environment above and below the waterline), as well as the dynamic lake level feature to adjust maps to current water levels.
