The Mastervolt MasterShunt 500 CZone battery monitor is an advanced digital monitoring interface designed to provide high-precision data on the state of your battery bank. Unlike traditional analog shunts, this model features native communication with MasterBus, CZone, and NMEA 2000 networks. It measures in real time voltage, charge and discharge current, state of charge (SOC), and remaining autonomy. Compatible with 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, and 48 V battery banks (Gel, AGM, lead-acid, or Lithium-Ion technologies), it supports a continuous current of 300 A, with peak capacities of up to 400 A for 10 minutes, 500 A for 5 minutes, and 600 A for 2 minutes.
Algorithmic accuracy and automation
The MasterShunt 500 CZone stands out from the standard model (reference 77020110, limited to the MasterBus environment) by its ability to integrate directly into a CZone ecosystem for total vessel automation. The state of charge is calculated dynamically by integrating the charge efficiency factor (C.E.F.) and Peukert’s exponent, ensuring a real and reliable data point. Its programming functions allow automated events to be triggered on the network, such as autonomous generator start when the state of charge reaches a critical threshold, or activation of specific alarms (low voltage, high voltage).
Mechanical design and MasterConnect integration
Designed for secure installation close to the batteries, the compact housing (150 x 150 x 65 mm, 0.7 kg) features IP21 insulation on DC connections. It integrates the MasterConnect system, facilitating direct physical coupling with a DC Distribution 500 module. This controller also offers unique protection flexibility: it is supplied with an internal busbar that can be removed and replaced directly with a main fuse of ANL or Class T type (not included), optimizing space, reducing voltage drops, and minimizing installation costs. Its standby power consumption is extremely low, limited to 23 mA in normal operation and less than 1 mA in eco mode.
