Carbowind/Aluwind Avionic 25m cable

The 25m Avionic Carbowind/aluwind cable is a critical component for installing the NKE Carbowind HR anemometer-vane sensor. Its "Avionic" design is tailored to the stringent requirements of wind measurement systems at the masthead. The 25-meter length is particularly suitable for medium to large sailboats, allowing the sensor to be connected from the masthead to the NKE TOPLINE bus, typically located at the chart table or in a technical compartment.

Using this dedicated cable is mandatory to preserve the integrity of wind speed, direction, and air temperature signals transmitted by the Carbowind HR sensor. NKE systems are sensitive to wiring quality to maintain data accuracy and responsiveness, essential for regattas or demanding offshore sailing. While the final connection to the TOPLINE bus requires an NKE connection box and standard TOPLINE bus cable, this Avionic cable provides the critical link between the sensor and the network entry point.

During installation, take care to route the cable inside the mast to avoid chafing and compression zones. Its lightweight construction and small diameter facilitate passage, but adequate protection against mechanical stress and UV exposure is recommended to extend service life in a marine environment. This cable is not a generic TOPLINE bus cable; it is specifically calibrated for the Carbowind HR sensor, and replacing it with a non-NKE cable could compromise the performance of the entire anemometric system.
