Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for Raymarine Evolution autopilot systems, the ACU-400 power drive unit (E70100) is a dedicated actuator control unit for installations requiring high power management. This module serves as an interface between the EV-1 central sensor, control heads (p70, p70s, p70R, p70Rs) or multifunction displays (MFD), and the vessel’s steering actuator.
Integration and compatibility
The ACU-400 integrates with Raymarine’s SeaTalk NG network, facilitating communication and data distribution. It is compatible with a wide range of drive systems, including linear actuators Type 1 and 2, linear hydraulic systems Type 2 and 3, I/O Stern drives, wheel systems, Sport Drive, Verado, as well as rotary drives Type 1 and 2, and hydraulic pumps Type 1, 2, and 3. This versatility ensures compatibility with various steering configurations on medium to large vessels. The unit’s physical dimensions are 284.9 mm x 261.0 mm, with a height of 59.6 mm, and require a minimum 50 mm clearance for cables.
Position in the Evolution range
The ACU-400 power drive unit is positioned as the most robust solution in the ACU series (which also includes ACU-100, ACU-150, ACU-200, and ACU-300). While the ACU-100 and ACU-150 are designed for low to medium power applications, the ACU-400, grouped with the ACU-200 and ACU-300 in installation guides, is specifically sized for high-current steering actuators such as large-capacity hydraulic pumps or powerful linear cylinders. This unit is essential for maintaining precise and responsive control of the autopilot on vessels with demanding steering power requirements.
