Detailed description
Detailed description
The RAYMARINE E70340 bronze through-hull depth sounder is a subsea detection solution designed for CHIRP fishfinder systems. This CPT-S model is a bronze through-hull transducer with a 12° conical HIGH CHIRP beam, compensating for hull deadrise. It comes with a 10-metre integrated cable, simplifying installation on a variety of vessels.
Precise CHIRP Sonar Technology
Integrated into Raymarine’s CPT-S range, this transducer uses HIGH CHIRP technology to deliver detailed sonar returns and improved target separation. Unlike DownVision systems that provide photo-realistic seabed imaging, this model focuses on a traditional conical beam, optimized for fish detection and accurate seabed tracking at varying depths. Its bronze construction makes it a more durable option than plastic versions (such as the A80447 for the same 12° beam angle), particularly suited to demanding marine environments and fibreglass or wooden hulls.
Installation and Compliance
The E70340 transducer is designed for through-hull installation, requiring hull drilling. The 12° beam angle is specifically selected for hulls with moderate deadrise, ensuring the sonar beam is directed vertically toward the seabed. It is critical not to cut the transducer’s cable, as this will significantly degrade fishfinder performance, void the warranty, and invalidate the EU CE mark. This product complies with harmonised standards 2013/53/EU and EN ISO 8846:2017, ensuring reliability and safety for marine use. For optimal performance, the transducer must be used only in water to prevent overheating.
