Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for hydraulic steering systems, the Raymarine EV-200 (T70157) autopilot kit provides an advanced steering solution. This system integrates the EV-1 Attitude and Heading Reference Sensor (AHRS) with 9-axis technology, replacing traditional fluxgate compasses for more accurate heading detection and automatic compensation of errors caused by the vessel’s pitch and roll. This technology is the cornerstone of Raymarine’s Evolution systems, known for its ability to correct heading errors, especially during sharp turns.
Integration and technical performance
The kit includes an Actuator Control Unit (ACU-200) that manages power and control for the Type 1 hydraulic pump provided. The ACU-200 is powered by 12VDC and delivers a 15A output current. While the EV-1 sensor has an IPx6 rating, the ACU-200, with an IPx2 rating, is designed for installation in a protected environment. The system integrates with the NMEA2000/SeaTalk NG network, ensuring seamless communication with other onboard navigation instruments. The EV-1 sensor consumes 30 mA, operates on a nominal 12V via the SeaTalk NG system, and functions within a temperature range of -25 °C to +55 °C.
Positioning within the Raymarine Evolution range
The EV-200 autopilot kit is positioned within Raymarine’s Evolution series as a solution dedicated to vessels equipped with hydraulic steering. It differs from other kits in the same range: the EV-100 is intended for wheel or tiller steering systems, while the EV-300 and EV-400 are designed for more powerful cylinders or rotary transmissions. Unlike the EV-2, optimized for "Drive-By-Wire" steering systems, the EV-1 in the EV-200 kit is specifically adapted for classic installations with a hydraulic pump. Recent technical documents (revisions dated 2025/2026) confirm the relevance and currency of this solution in Raymarine’s lineup.
