Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine T050 large deck mount is designed for secure installation of instruments on a horizontal surface. This accessory allows for solid attachment of an instrument while providing flexibility for temporary or permanent installations. It serves as a practical mounting solution within the Raymarine accessory range, offering a modular alternative to built-in permanent fixtures.
Installation and Mounting of the T050
Installing the T050 mount requires four non-magnetic screws, sized according to the boat's structure. It is essential to apply a sealant between the base of the mount and the mounting surface to prevent water ingress. Once secured, the mount becomes a permanent installation on the deck. The instrument cradle bolts to the mount, allowing the instrument to be inserted and removed by simple clipping before each voyage. For areas exposed to snagging from ropes, two eyelets are integrated at the top of the mount for additional security using an elastic cord around the mast.
Technical Considerations for Accuracy
When selecting the location, it is critical to ensure the mount is not installed within 0.6 meters (2 feet) of magnetic objects, including a conventional compass, to avoid interference. For instruments incorporating a compass, accurate operation is guaranteed only if the mount is installed with a maximum tilt of 20° from vertical, without any port or starboard list. These precautions are essential to maintain the reliability of the navigation data displayed by the instrument mounted on the T050, distinguishing it from less restrictive but potentially less accurate mounts for certain applications.
