Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for coastal and offshore navigation, the Raymarine Quantum Q24D Doppler radar antenna (T70416) is a target detection solution based on solid-state technology. This radome radar integrates Doppler functionality for identifying threatening targets, displayed with a distinct color code on compatible multifunction displays.
Doppler and Solid-State Technology
The Quantum 2 Q24D stands out for its use of Doppler technology, which analyzes the movement of radar echoes relative to the vessel. Approaching targets are highlighted in red, while those moving away are in green, providing immediate and intuitive situational awareness. Unlike traditional magnetron radars, this solid-state model requires no warm-up time and consumes less power, while offering short- and long-range detection comparable or superior to magnetron units, without the wear constraints of magnetrons. This technology positions the Quantum 2 Q24D as an evolution of first-generation Quantum radars, adding a layer of dynamic target analysis.
Connectivity and Compatibility
Integration of the Quantum Q24D radar into a Raymarine navigation system is flexible, thanks to its Wi-Fi or wired connection options via RayNet. The Wi-Fi connection simplifies installation on some vessels by reducing the need for complex cabling. This radar is compatible with Raymarine multifunction displays from the Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, Axiom XL, and eS and gS series. It is not, however, compatible with the older c, a, e (non-touch), cS, eS (non-touch), gS (non-touch), C Series Widescreen, E Series Widescreen, A Series, C-Series classic, E-Series classic, hsb/hsb2 Series, SL Series, L Series, RL Series, R Series, RC Series, hsb/hsb2 Plus Series, or Pathfinder Series. The T70416 model ships with a 10-meter power and data cable to facilitate connection to the vessel's network.
