Detailed description
Detailed description
Essential component for SeaTalk NG network
The Raymarine A06036 5-meter backbone cable is a fundamental element for building or extending any SeaTalk NG marine network. As the backbone of the system, it ensures reliable power distribution and NMEA 2000 data communication between all connected devices, such as multifunction displays, autopilots, wind sensors, and GPS receivers.
Standardized network architecture
Designed specifically for the Raymarine ecosystem, this cable uses blue connectors for immediate identification and to prevent connection errors with spur cables, which use white connectors. The 5-meter length offers great flexibility for small to medium-sized boats, allowing connection of distant instrument zones, such as the helm console and chart table or mast foot. Compared to other lengths in the range like the A06034 (1m) or A06037 (9m), this 5m model is the most versatile choice for most standard installations.
Installation and compatibility
Installation is plug-and-play. The A06036 cable connects to other backbone cables or T-connectors to extend the network. Each end of the complete backbone network must be terminated with a termination resistor (A06031). While the data protocol is standard NMEA 2000, SeaTalk NG connectors are Raymarine proprietary, ensuring a watertight and secure connection but requiring adapters for direct connection to a NMEA 2000 network using standard DeviceNet connectors.
