Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for 12/24V solar systems, the Victron Energy BlueSolar PWM-Light 10A charge controller provides efficient energy management with automatic system voltage detection. This controller uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) to optimize battery charging and improve performance, relying on a multi-stage charging algorithm.
Features and Protections
The BlueSolar PWM-Light 10A includes a load output with low-battery disconnect, plus a lighting control function with a single timer. A two-digit seven-segment display simplifies adjustment of load output features, including the timer. Battery charging occurs in three non-programmable stages: bulk, absorption, and float. Protections include overcurrent on the load output, short circuits, solar panel/battery reverse polarity, and overheating. In case of overcurrent, the system stops after 60 seconds for a 130% load and after 5 seconds for a 160% load. A short circuit causes immediate shutdown.
Technical Specifications
This charge controller supports a nominal charging current of 10A and a maximum solar voltage of 28V for 12V systems (36-cell panels) or 55V for 24V systems (72-cell panels). Standby consumption is less than 10 mA. Absorption voltage is 14.2V for 12V systems and 28.4V for 24V systems, while float voltage is 13.8V (12V) and 27.6V (24V). Low-voltage load disconnect occurs at 11.2V / 22.4V, with automatic reconnect at 13.1V / 26.2V or manual reconnect at 12.6V / 25.2V. The controller operates from -20 to +50°C at full load. It is rated IP20, indicating protection against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm but no water resistance. Dimensions are 70 x 133 x 33.5 mm with a weight of 0.15 kg, and it uses 5 mm² / AWG10 terminals. Wiring is positive common.
