Detailed description
Detailed description
The Victron Energy MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50-GX is an advanced inverter-charger designed for professional, marine, mobile, and grid-connected or off-grid energy storage systems. It integrates a pure sine wave inverter, a sophisticated 70 A battery charger, and a fast 50 A AC transfer switch. This model features an integrated GX device for extended monitoring and control.
Technical capabilities and integration
With a continuous output power of 5000 VA (4000 W) at 25°C and a peak power of 6500 W, the MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50-GX operates at a nominal battery voltage of 48 V DC and an AC input range of 187–265 V AC. The unit delivers a pure sine wave output of 230 V at 50 Hz, with efficiency up to 96%. Its dimensions are 565 x 323 x 148 mm, weighing 30–31 kg, and it has an IP22 protection rating, allowing use in various environments from -40 to +65 °C.
Advanced features and connectivity
The integrated GX device is a key feature, including a 2x16 character display for real-time parameters, a BMS-Can interface, a VE.Direct port, a USB port, and an Ethernet port. This connectivity enables remote monitoring via the Victron VRM portal. PowerControl and PowerAssist functions optimize energy management by limiting input current and supplementing AC power with the battery during load peaks. Its UPS capability ensures uninterrupted power in less than 20 milliseconds during a grid outage. The MultiPlus-II can operate in parallel (up to six units) or in a three-phase configuration (three units of the same model) for scalable power solutions. It also features two AC outputs, one primary with "no-break" function and one secondary for non-critical loads. A programmable relay is included for various alerts or controls. Compared to standard MultiPlus-II models, the GX version integrates the controller directly, simplifying installation and reducing the number of external components required for complete system management.
