Quentin Le Nabour

The Malouin boat captain who became skipper of the first Mach 40.6

Quentin Le Nabour was born on 7 November 1988 in Saint-Malo. Son of a sailor, he joined Franck-Yves Escoffier’s team at age 13: boat preparation, crew management, race logistics. He turned pro in 2007, and for fifteen years he worked for others before taking the helm of his own project.

Fifteen years preparing other people’s boats

Quentin’s career began as a boat preparator and boat captain. Trimaran Crêpes Whaou for the 2002 Route du Rhum, Sergio Tacchini in 2005, Laiterie de Saint-Malo for the 2006 Rhum, then the trimaran Laiterie Mont-Saint-Michel. He then moved on to the A40 RC Batistyl, the TP52s Paprec Recyclage and Teasing Machine (Éric de Turckheim), and the Groupama 3 project. On Teasing Machine, he secured overall victory in the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2022, then the RORC Transatlantic 2023 and the Caribbean 600 2023 — each time as crew member / boat captain, not as skipper.

Bleu Blanc Planète Location: taking command

Since 2024, he has been exclusive skipper of the Class 40 Bleu Blanc Planète Location (FRA 205), the first example of the Mach 40.6 series designed by Sam Manuard and built by JPS Production. Training base: La Trinité-sur-Mer. The boat got off to a strong start with a win at the Spi Ouest-France BPGO 2024 and a 2nd place at the Drheam Cup the same year. The 2024 Transat CIC ended early: retirement on boom damage. With Thierry Chabagny as his partner, he won the Armen Race Uship in 2026. Now targeting the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe (start 1 November 2026).
