Winner of the 2026 RORC Caribbean 600 after rescuing six sailors at sea
Born in 1995 in Nice, trained at the Sainte-Maxime Sailing Club, Robin Follin races in Class40 aboardSolano, a Musa 40 (FRA213) launched by Sangiorgio Marine in 2025. The boat is prepared by Skysat.
Rescue of the Cata Sensation
On February 25, 2026, during the RORC Caribbean 600, the catamaranCata Sensation capsizes in a gust exceeding 30 knots with six people aboard. Robin Follin and Jules Bonnier divertSolano and recover the six sailors in 25 minutes. Once the crew is safe, they resume the race and finish first in Class40 ahead of the FPFP-TP skippered by Matéo Le Calvic and Pierre Boulbin. "It's normal, it's the spirit of sailors. If it were us in the water, we'd want someone to do the same," Follin commented upon arrival.
From Figaro to Class40
Robin Follin built his career on the Figaro circuit before switching to Class40 in 2023 with Jules Bonnier. On the Figaro circuit, his benchmark remains the victory at the 2022 Drheam Cup in a double-handed race with Basile Bourgnon aboardEdenred — a race led from start to finish. The move to Class40 follows logically: "what I like is that there's racing all the time, just like in Figaro".
The Solano project and the Route du Rhum 2026
The Musa 40 #213 is launched for the 2025 season. First transatlantic for the boat: Transat Café L'Or 2025 with Jules Bonnier, 10th place in 20d 01h 38min. Followed by a 7th at the 2025 Rolex Fastnet Race, then victory at the 2026 Caribbean 600. The 2026 program includes Round Ireland (June), Drheam Cup (July), before the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe in November.
