A Mach 40.5 serving Breton values
Alternative Sailing - Constructions du Belon is a Class 40 Mach 40.5 (#FRA 196) launched in 2023, designed by Sam Manuard and built by JPS Production in La Trinité-sur-Mer. The result of a collaboration between two Breton companies: Constructions du Belon (individual homebuilder founded over 55 years ago, led by Antoine Le Manchec and Laurent Stratten) and Alternative Sailing (sailboat charter based in La Trinité-sur-Mer).
Skippers and achievements
Co-skippers: Guillaume L'Hostis (born 1993, Brest) and Antoine Le Manchec (born 1985, Chartres). 3rd in the 2025 Class 40 championship.
Specifications: 12.20 m × 4.50 m, displacement ~4,500 kg, fiberglass-epoxy composite, equipped with solar panels.
