The Mach 40 yard of Sam Manuard in La Trinité-sur-Mer
JPS Production was founded in 1996 in La Trinité-sur-Mer byNicolas Groleau and Jean-Pierre Souviron — hence the JPS acronym. The yard remains located at the ZA de Kermarquer, and Nicolas Groleau continues to run it. Its specialty: vacuum-bagged composite construction of Class40 racing sailboats, primarily to custom designsSam Manuard.
Construction method
Vacuum-bagged glass/epoxy sandwich with localized carbon reinforcements and high-density appendages. The yard builds in small prototype series, with each hull number tailored to the skipper’s and sponsor’s preferences.
The Mach range
JPS builds the entire Mach line designed by Sam Manuard: Mach 30, Mach 40 (versions .3, .4, .5, .6), and Mach 45. The Mach 40 series has become the dominant Class40 platform in recent years, with the Mach 40.6 launched in November 2024.
