The AC Antennas CELmar4 is a coaxial VHF dipole antenna designed for marine and terrestrial communication, featuring a robust fiberglass construction. It operates over a VHF frequency range of 146.0 to 162.5 MHz (band A), providing a gain of 3 dB (2.15 dBi or 3 Marine dB) and supporting a maximum input power of 100 Watts. Its nominal impedance is 50 Ohms with a VSWR below 1.5:1 on band A, ensuring efficient transmission.
Design and Environmental Resistance
At 1.26 meters in length and weighing 1.25 kg, the CELmar4 incorporates copper radiating elements and a chrome-plated brass ferrule, engineered to prevent galvanic corrosion. Its construction uses a crimping technology that, according to the manufacturer, makes it 4 to 5 times more resistant. The antenna is rated IP66 for protection against water and dust and can operate within a temperature range of -55 to +60 °C. It is designed to withstand winds up to 200 km/h, with a wind load of 28 N at 160 km/h, attesting to its robustness in harsh marine conditions.
Installation and Technical Specifications
The CELmar4 antenna is omnidirectional and features a standard 1"-14TPI female thread for mounting. It comes supplied with 18 meters of RG58 cable. Beyond its VHF transmission capabilities, it can also receive on FM (88-108 MHz) and 160-250 MHz bands, expanding its reception functionality. Its single-section design simplifies installation.
