Detailed description
Detailed description
The AUXICOM CATLine CAT 6A BL Ethernet cable, part number 16474621, is designed for demanding industrial and marine Ethernet applications. This halogen-free cable, with a 4x2x26/7AWG construction, provides a reliable networking solution for modern embedded systems. It features a special black polymer jacket resistant to marine environments, and a shielding combining an aluminum foil and a tinned copper braid, ensuring optimal signal integrity.
Performance and Compliance
The AUXICOM CATLine CAT 6A BL cable meets high-frequency transmission and electrical requirements with a characteristic impedance of 100Ω ± 10Ω, in accordance with EN 50288-10-2 for CAT 6A cables. It supports a maximum operating voltage of 90 V and a UL voltage of 300 V, with a core-to-core and core-to-screen test voltage of 2000 V. Its design ensures good flexibility, with a minimum bending radius of 5xd in fixed installation and 10xd in flexible applications.
Marine Environment Resistance
This cable is specifically suited for marine use thanks to its resistance properties. It is halogen-free per IEC 60754-1 and VDE 0482-754-1, flame-retardant and self-extinguishing per IEC 60332-1-2, and does not propagate flame per IEC 60332-3-22 Cat. A. Additionally, it does not emit corrosive combustion gases (IEC 60754-2) and has low smoke density (IEC 61034). With a temperature range of -40/+70 °C in fixed installation and -30/+70 °C in flexible applications, it delivers stable performance across varied conditions, from -30°C to +75°C (UL). Compared to CATLine CAT 5e BL cables, the CAT 6A BL model offers increased bandwidth and better immunity to interference, positioning it as a standard suited to current marine network needs, while providing a balanced alternative to CATLine CAT 7A BL cables, which may be oversized for some applications.
