Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G masthead unit Wind Transducer 213 is a wind sensor that provides raw data on wind speed and angle. It is used on coastal cruising sailboats as well as transoceanic racing units, with compatible B&G navigation systems.
Design
Developed for B&G H5000 and H3000 systems, the 213 unit transmits data via a pulse/analog output signal. It operates on a 12 V DC power supply and weighs 0.2 kg. The electronics are protected in a sealed housing certified to IP66 (protection against powerful water jets). It allows for field maintenance, including bearing replacement.
Position in the B&G range
The masthead unit 213 is a legacy sensor in the B&G range. It remains in use for replacements on existing H3000 or H5000 installations; for new installations, B&G offers the WS300 (wired) and WS700 (vertical profile) series. The 213 features a simple mechanical design and onboard maintenance capabilities.
