Detailed description
Detailed description
The H5000 Performance Base Pack from B&G is the starting point for building a high-end navigation instrumentation system, designed for racing sailboats and superyachts. This pack provides a solid foundation, including the H5000 central processing unit (CPU) with Performance software, a versatile H5000 graphic display, and a basic NMEA 2000 network kit (Micro-C) for simplified initial installation.
Position in the H5000 range
The H5000 system is divided into three software levels: Hydra (for cruising), Hercules (racing-oriented), and Performance. This pack includes the Performance software, the most advanced in the range, which encompasses all features of the Hydra and Hercules versions. It stands out for its superior processing capabilities, essential for complex systems on large sailboats. It natively manages advanced configurations such as two wind sensors, two rudders (with leeway angle calculation), and the management of multiple appendages like port, starboard, and centerboards.
H5000 Central Processing Unit (CPU): Power and connectivity
At the heart of the system, the H5000 CPU is powered by a high-performance ARM processor, offering up to 50 times faster processing speeds than previous systems. This power ensures real-time data updates, crucial for tactical decision-making. Connectivity is comprehensive with an Ethernet port for web configuration interface access, a USB port for software updates, and native compatibility with NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 networks. The entire system operates on 12V DC and is protected by IPX4 waterproofing.
Software features exclusive to the Performance level
The Performance software is designed for data optimization and strategic decision support. It integrates 3D motion correction (heel, pitch, yaw) for unmatched wind data accuracy. The system calculates advanced variables such as ground wind speed and direction, rate of turn, and provides performance targets based on the boat's polar diagrams. Tactical tools like the SailSteer function and advanced starting line management are also included. Configuration, sensor calibration, and diagnostics are fully managed via the integrated web server, accessible from a PC, tablet, or smartphone.
