Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G Nemesis hub is a network switch designed to centralize power and data for your navigation displays. It allows you to connect up to three Nemesis multifunction displays (9 or 12 inches) via a single main cable, reducing wiring clutter aboard, whether for mast mounting, in the cockpit, or at the helm.
Positioning the Nemesis hub in the B&G ecosystem
Unlike traditional installations requiring individual cable runs for each display, as seen in B&G Triton² or H5000 series, this hub acts as a dedicated switch for the Nemesis range. Compared to competing solutions like the Garmin GMS 10, which is limited to data transfer, the Nemesis hub simultaneously distributes network data (Ethernet) and electrical power to connected displays. This enables synchronization of navigation data, graphical gauges, and contextual modes (close-hauled, broad reach, running downwind) across multiple screens with minimal latency.
Electrical characteristics and connectivity
This unit integrates with 12 V and 24 V DC electrical systems, with an operating voltage range of 10 to 31.2 V DC. Its own power consumption is 2 W, plus the power distributed to displays (up to 60 W maximum). The unit includes reverse polarity, undervoltage, and overvoltage protection, secured by a recommended 6 A fuse. The interface features an 8-pin connector for main power and Ethernet, three 8-pin Ethernet connectors for displays, and an M4 grounding terminal. LED indicators provide status for power (PWR) and data transfer (ETH and ports 1 to 3).
Environmental resistance and installation
Designed for exposed marine environments, the hub meets IPX6 and IPX7 protection ratings, ensuring water resistance against spray and temporary immersion. It operates within a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C (storage tolerated from -15 °C to +55 °C). The unit weighs 240 g, with a total packaged weight of 1.2 kg. The device ships with mounting hardware, a 0.6-meter interconnection cable for plug-and-play display connection, and blanking plugs to protect unused ports.
