Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G Triton² speed/depth/wind wired pack (000-14955-003) is a complete solution for collecting and displaying essential navigation data. Designed for sailboats, this system integrates a 4.1-inch color Triton² display, a DST820 multifunction sensor, and a WS310 wired wind sensor, offering NMEA 2000 integration for reliable data distribution aboard.
DST820 Smart™ multifunction sensor: Precision and safety
The DST820 multifunction sensor represents the next generation of Airmar sensors, replacing the DST810 with enhanced PSTI compliance for network safety. Installation is simplified by a secure QR code and a unique password. It integrates Airmar’s Gen2 impeller, ensuring accurate water speed readings, with a response from 0.3 knots, linearity from 0.6 knots, and stable readings up to 45 knots. The DST820 also provides depth data from 0.5 m to 100 m and water temperature. Its 5.7 Hz speed output offers increased responsiveness. An integrated attitude sensor measures roll and pitch, enabling speed calibration compensated for heel angle.
The DST820’s secure Bluetooth® connectivity with the Airmar CAST™ app allows intuitive calibration from a mobile device. This feature offers basic and advanced calibration options, including speed adjustments compensated for multiple heel angles and up to 10 speeds—a capability previously limited to expensive PC software. The sensor weighs 0.9 kg (plastic version), operates on 9 VDC to 16 VDC (NMEA 2000®), and consumes less than 200 mA. Data update rates are 1 time/second for depth, 5 times/second for speed, and 10 times/second for roll/pitch.
WS310 wired wind sensor: Reliable wind data
The WS310 wind sensor ensures accurate measurement of wind speed and angle. Weighing 0.30 kg, it is designed for robust masthead installation. It is rated IPx6 and IPx7 for water resistance and operates within a temperature range of -25°C to 65°C. The WS310 offers a wind speed resolution of 0.05 m/sec and an accuracy of +/- 0.1 m/sec for speeds of 1 to 40 m/sec. The wind speed measurement range extends from 0.25 to 50 m/sec, while wind angle is measured with a resolution of 0.1° and an accuracy of +/- 0.5°. Data is transmitted via NMEA0183 (sentence 'MWV,R') at 10 Hz.
