Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G SonicHub2 is a complete marine audio entertainment server, designed for seamless integration with B&G, Simrad, and Lowrance multifunction displays via the NMEA 2000 network. Although it is a previous generation product now discontinued, it remains a high-performance "black box" solution for centralizing audio control directly from your chartplotter, freeing up console space.
Amplification and Multi-Zone Management
The SonicHub2 integrates a 4-channel amplifier delivering 50W of maximum power per channel, for a total of 200W. It allows independent management of two distinct listening zones via its speaker outputs. For more complex systems, it is equipped with pre-amplified outputs (RCA) for a third zone and a dedicated subwoofer output, offering maximum flexibility for your vessel's sound system.
Connectivity and Audio Sources
This audio server features Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity (A2DP, AVRCP, HFP profiles) for wireless audio streaming from a smartphone or tablet. It also has two USB ports for playing multimedia files (FAT16, FAT32, NTFS) and charging devices (1A max). Audio sources are complemented by two stereo auxiliary inputs (AUX), an integrated AM/FM tuner, and a composite video output (PAL/NTSC). For the US market, it is compatible with the SiriusXM WM-3 satellite weather and radio module (subscription required).
Technical Specifications and Installation
Operating on a 10 to 16 V DC power supply, the SonicHub2 consumes less than 250 mA in standby and up to 15 A maximum. Its dimensions are 107.2 x 225.0 x 62.0 mm with a weight of 0.88 kg. It is important to note its IPX2 waterproof rating, which requires installation in a dry compartment protected from water splashes and moisture. The device complies with CE (EN 60945), FCC, and C-Tick standards.
