Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G VMHU 810mm vertical anemometer is a masthead unit designed to provide high-precision wind data to B&G navigation systems. Developed for offshore racing yachts and large cruising vessels, this sensor is a replacement solution for compatible existing installations that demand maximum reliability and performance.
Performance and construction
The VMHU design is based on an 810 mm high-modulus carbon vertical spar. This material ensures maximum rigidity and reduced weight, minimizing flex and vibration to guarantee accurate masthead measurements. Proven in the extreme conditions of ocean racing, this analog sensor provides wind speed via a pulse output and wind angle via a phased voltage output, delivering raw, reliable data directly to the processor.
Compatibility and technical specifications
This sensor is specifically compatible with B&G instrument processors from the WTP3, H3000 and H5000 series. The unit is designed to withstand the harshest marine environments, protecting it from dust and powerful water jets.
Positioning within the B&G range
The VMHU 810mm (BGH031001) is the replacement solution for sailboats already equipped with WTP3, H3000, or H5000 systems. For all new installations, B&G now recommends the WS700 range of wind sensors, which represents the brand's latest generation of wind measurement technology. The VMHU remains the performance standard for maintaining existing high-performance racing and cruising systems.
