Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G WS320 is a high-precision wireless wind sensor, designed for demanding sailors, whether cruising or racing. This specific version, part number 000-14390-001, is intended for replacing an existing unit. It includes only the masthead unit (wind transducer) and its mounting kit, without the Bluetooth to NMEA 2000 interface. It's the ideal solution if your sensor has been damaged but your network interface is still functional.
Wireless Performance and Accuracy
Developed after over 500 individual wind tunnel tests and 200,000 hours of field testing, the WS320 offers wind measurement performance identical to wired B&G sensors, eliminating the complexity and potential failure point of running a cable through the mast. It transmits apparent wind data at a 5 Hz frequency (five times per second), ensuring maximum responsiveness for autopilots and instruments. Its aerodynamic design guarantees stable and accurate wind data readings.
- Wind Angle Accuracy: +/- 0.5°
- Wind Angle Resolution: 0.1°
- Wind Speed Accuracy: +/- 0.1 m/s (0.2 kt) over a range of 1 to 40 m/s
- Wind Speed Resolution: 0.05 m/s (0.1 kt)
- Wind Speed Range: 0.25 to 50 m/s (0.5 to 97 knots)
Robust Design and Power Autonomy
Weighing only 0.32 kg, the WS320 sensor is designed to withstand the harshest marine conditions at the masthead. It benefits from IPX6 and IPX7 certified waterproofing and can operate in a temperature range of -25°C to +65°C. Power is supplied by an integrated solar panel that recharges an internal battery, providing complete autonomy and intelligent power management without maintenance.
Contents of Part Number 000-14390-001
This pack is a spare part and does not constitute a complete wind system. It consists exclusively of the following items:
- WS320 Wind Sensor
- Mast Mount
- Internal Battery
- Waterproof Seal
- Mounting Hardware (4 x No.10 x 5/8 screws)
The interface (base station) for NMEA 2000 network connection is required for operation and must be purchased separately if you do not already have one.
