Detailed description
Detailed description
The single-engine cluster 701BAT/DVSR BEP is a compact and complete battery distribution system designed for single-engine boats equipped with two battery banks (start and house). It integrates a 701S battery switch and a 140 A digital voltage-sensitive relay (DVSR), all pre-assembled on a square "bulk" panel for simplified installation and optimized wiring.
Intelligent battery management for single-engine boats
This cluster centralizes power distribution at a single point. The 701S switch allows manual disconnection of power to the engine or house loads, while the 140 A (125 A continuous) DVSR automatically manages the charging of the house battery from the alternator or shore power charger when voltage reaches 13.4 V (12 V) or 26.8 V (24 V). It isolates the banks at 12.8 V (25.6 V in 24 V) to preserve starting capacity. Unlike a basic 701 switch or a cluster without DVSR (such as the 716-SQ-140A), this model includes automated load sharing, eliminating the need for a 1-2-Both switch. The system is bidirectional, allowing both banks to be charged from any source. Compared to the BEP Contor Connect range (80-700-0047-00), this cluster is a direct wired solution without remote control electronics, offering maximum reliability and near-zero electrical consumption (1 mA in standby).
Technical specifications and robustness
The 701S switch supports 275 A continuous, 455 A intermittent, and 1250 A at start-up, with a max voltage of 48 V DC. The terminals are 10 mm (3/8") tin-plated copper. The DVSR is designed for a max alternator current of 100 A and operates from -40°C to +85°C. The unit is CE-certified and meets ABYC requirements for the switch. The square panel simplifies mounting in an electrical panel.
