Single wall: implications

Non-adhesive tubing grips the support mechanically without sealing it. This is suitable for sheathing, identification, and insulation repair. For a junction requiring watertightness — crimped terminal exposed, wet bulkhead penetration — use adhesive tubing: the adhesive version is available in the same diameter.

Choosing the correct diameter

The Ø 6 mm must fit over the widest point to be covered, and the Ø 2 mm after shrinking must be smaller than the support so the tubing grips. Between these two values, the 3:1 ratio provides a comfortable adjustment range.
