Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for optimized management of 12V marine electrical systems, the BLUE SEA ATD Automatic Timer Disconnect (reference 7615) is a versatile device capable of performing four distinct functions: timed disconnection, low-voltage disconnection, automatic charge relay (ACR), and simple solenoid. This flexibility allows multiple battery management functions to be consolidated into a single component, simplifying complex installations.
Power management and battery protection
The BLUE SEA ATD 7615-BSS offers configurable disconnection options to protect batteries from excessive discharge. In timed disconnection mode, it cuts power to devices after a predefined period ranging from 15 minutes to 4 hours once the 12V signal is removed. For enhanced protection, the low-voltage disconnection mode monitors battery voltage and automatically isolates loads when it reaches an adjustable threshold (11.0V, 11.5V, or 12.0V), with a 10-second delay to prevent false triggers. This function can be combined with timed disconnection for proactive management.
Charge relay and solenoid functionalities
As an automatic charge relay (ACR), the BLUE SEA ATD 7615 automatically combines two battery banks for charging from a single source, then isolates them during discharge. Its unilateral sensing design monitors the starter battery voltage, making it suitable for AGM auxiliary batteries or larger capacity batteries. The device connects when voltage reaches 13.0V for 3 seconds and disconnects if it falls below 12.75V for 10 seconds. Finally, the ATD 7615 can operate as a simple solenoid, activating or deactivating the relay instantly via a 12V signal, without delay.
Robust and compliant with marine standards
The ATD 7615-BSS is designed for demanding marine environments, with immersion protection up to 1 meter for 30 minutes (IP67). It is CE marked and meets external ignition protection requirements per ISO 8846 and SAE J1171, ensuring enhanced safety. With a continuous current capacity of 120A and intermittent capacity of 210A (5 min), it is compatible with cables up to 1/0 AWG (50mm²) via M10 studs. Configuration is performed via DIP switches, allowing precise adaptation to system requirements. Overvoltage protection disconnects the device if voltage exceeds 16.0V for 5 seconds.
