Detailed description
Detailed description
The BLUE SEA 2203-BSS feed-through connector is designed to secure the passage of high-current cables through hulls, decks, and bulkheads. It eliminates abrasion and provides strain relief for large-section cables. With 3/8"-16 studs and a continuous 250A DC rating at 48V DC, this connector ensures reliable electrical distribution.
Design and materials
Constructed with a black reinforced thermoplastic body, the 2203-BSS isolates the stud from the bulkhead, while the tinned copper alloy studs ensure high conductivity and corrosion resistance. Its IP66 rating provides resistance to powerful water jets and harsh marine conditions. This connector is mounted using #10 (M5) screws and requires a Ø 24 mm or Ø 7/8" hole for optimal installation. The recommended torque is 11.3 Nm (100 in-lb) for secure connections.
Applications and integration
Ideal for installations requiring cable passage for equipment such as windlasses or electric winches, the BLUE SEA 2203-BSS feed-through connector ensures a watertight installation thanks to its mounting face, which can be gasketed or bedded. Unlike busbars or terminal blocks that distribute current on the surface, this connector allows a wall penetration while maintaining circuit integrity and cable mechanical protection. The availability of black (negative) and red (positive) versions facilitates polarity compliance in complex installations.
