Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine environments, the Blue Sea Systems 1015-BSS 12-volt plug and socket kit provides a reliable power solution. It features corrosion-resistant materials, including a nickel-plated copper alloy for all conductive components, ensuring stable electrical contact and low voltage drop. Unlike standard automotive plugs, this unit is specifically engineered to withstand the rigors of humid environments and constant vibrations aboard.
Design and Technical Specifications
The system consists of a plug and a dashboard socket. The socket is rated for a maximum current of 15A at 12V DC, while the plug includes a 10A fuse for added protection. The plug is equipped with a sealing ring to prevent water ingress and ensure a secure fit in the socket. The socket features a watertight cap. The twist-lock mechanism ensures a secure connection, preventing accidental disconnections at sea. The large contact surfaces optimize electrical conductivity.
Installation and Features
Installing the socket requires a mounting hole of 28.58 mm (1 1/8"). It can be mounted on the front panel, rear panel, or surface-mounted. The socket's rear connections use two 1/4" push-on blade terminals. The plug, in turn, includes an "ON" LED indicator, an internal cable clamp, and a cable sealing gasket, enhancing its durability and ease of use in harsh conditions. Weighing approximately 0.07 kg for the complete unit, this accessory is lightweight and compact, making it easy to integrate into various marine dashboards.
