Detailed description
Detailed description
The EM-Trak B922 AIS Class B transponder is a CSTDMA solution designed to enhance safety at sea by enabling your vessel to be seen and to see others. It transmits at 2W, ensuring reliable detection by other vessels and shore stations equipped with AIS systems. The integration of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provides flexible wireless connectivity with mobile devices and onboard navigation systems.
Connectivity and Integration
The B922 features complete electrical interfaces including NMEA 2000, two NMEA 0183 ports (one high-speed at 38,400 baud for chartplotters and one low-speed at 4,800 baud for other sensors), and a USB port. This versatility ensures easy integration into most existing marine electronic architectures. All converted NMEA PGNs are multiplexed to all NMEA 0183, USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth outputs, guaranteeing consistent data broadcasting.
GPS Performance and Robustness
With its integrated 72-channel GPS receiver, compatible with L1 GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, the B922 ensures precise positioning for your AIS transmissions. Its compact dimensions of 149 x 118 x 47 mm (L x W x H) and weight of 320g facilitate installation. The unit is designed to withstand demanding marine environments, with water and weather resistance compliant with IPx6 and IPx7 standards. It operates on an input voltage of DC 12–24V (9.6–31.2V maximum) with an average power consumption of 170mA / 2.05W at 12V.
Advanced Features
The B922 integrates a VHF transceiver with a frequency range of 156.025 to 162.025 MHz. The CSTDMA output power is 33dBm ± 1.5 dB. It offers configuration modes via PC (proAIS2) or smartphone (CONNECT-AIS), enabling easy commissioning and diagnostics. LED indicators (power, TX status, error, silent mode) provide instant visual feedback on the device's operational status. The silent mode, activable via configuration tools or an external switch, allows you to stop your own vessel's transmissions while continuing to receive position reports from others.
