Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for small and medium-sized boats, the Airmar P319 through-hull transducer from Garmin is a versatile solution for depth and temperature detection. With 600W RMS power and dual frequencies of 50/200 kHz, it provides coverage suited to various navigation and fishing conditions. The 50 kHz frequency offers detection up to 366 meters (1200 feet) with a wide 45° beam, while the 200 kHz frequency enables detailed readings up to 213 meters (700 feet) with a narrower 12° beam.
Design and Compatibility
The Airmar P319 stands out with its plastic housing, specifically recommended for fiberglass or metal hulls, ensuring integration without risk of electrolytic corrosion. Its low-profile design, with only 5 mm (2/10") protruding from the hull, minimizes drag, which is particularly beneficial for sailboats and planing powerboats. Unlike more robust models such as the Airmar B117 (bronze version), the P319 offers a more economical solution with similar performance for suitable hull materials. It complies with ABYC H-27 standards, attesting to its quality and installation safety.
Installation and Features
The P319 is installed as a through-hull transducer, requiring a 51 mm (2 inch) hole. The transducer is designed to compensate for hull deadrise angles up to 12°, offering optimal performance up to 7°. This feature makes it a practical option compared to transducers requiring an external fairing block. The 10-meter (33-foot) cable with a right-angle exit facilitates routing in tight spaces and protects the connection. The Airmar P319 transducer is ideal for boats up to 8 meters (26 feet) and provides reliable depth detection and fast water temperature readings.
