Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding sailors, the Garmin GPSMAP® 8410xsv is a 10-inch chartplotter-sounder combo that delivers MFD-level performance in a compact format. This model features a 10.1-inch (21.8 cm x 13.7 cm) Full HD IPS touchscreen with WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels), ensuring superior clarity and readability even in bright sunlight and with polarized sunglasses. Weighing 2.4 kg and measuring 25.9 cm x 20.5 cm x 7.5 cm, it is rugged with IPX7 and IPX6 waterproof ratings and offers flush, bracket, or tabletop mounting options.
Sonar and Network Capabilities
The "xsv" suffix in the GPSMAP® 8410xsv indicates full integration of a built-in sounder module without requiring an external black box. It supports traditional CHIRP dual-channel sonar up to 1 kW (70/83/200 kHz, CHIRP L, M, H), as well as CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonars (260/455/800/1000/1200 kHz), including Ultra High Definition support. It is also compatible with the full Panoptix™ sonar range (transducers sold separately). This integration simplifies installation and saves space aboard, unlike non-xsv models that require external sounder modules.
This combo serves as the hub of a complete marine network with two Garmin Marine Network™ ports and one NMEA 2000® port, enabling integration of radar, autopilots, cameras, instruments, and forward-scanning sonars, all controllable from the display and shareable across multiple screens. The GPSMAP® 8410xsv also includes composite BNC and HDMI video inputs, plus an HDMI output, providing flexibility for multi-screen monitoring and display.
Advanced Navigation and Video Integration
The Garmin GPSMAP® 8410xsv is equipped with a 10 Hz GPS/GLONASS/Galileo receiver and comes preloaded with Garmin Navionics+™ marine and inland charts, including Auto Guidance+™ technology and a one-year subscription for daily updates. For racing sailors, it includes Garmin SailAssist™ features such as laylines, regatta start assist, enhanced wind rose, and real-time wind data display.
Network camera integration is a key feature, allowing up to five video streams to be viewed and controlled simultaneously on the chartplotter screen. FLIR® cameras, including the M and MD series, are automatically detected and can provide thermal imaging. To connect standard Ethernet devices, a Garmin PoE isolation coupler (010-10580-10) is required to prevent damage. The system also supports advanced camera tracking functions such as compass or vessel lock, and AIS/MARPA target tracking, which require specific sensors (9-axis GPS antenna, heading sensor) and a compatible radar or AIS receiver.
