Detailed description

The Garmin GRID 20 vertical is designed to remotely control a Garmin Marine system when the multifunction display is not always within reach or when a dedicated physical control for the helm is desired. The 360° joystick with rotating wheel and validation button allows navigating through chartplotter menus, precisely adjusting settings, and quickly accessing common functions.

Physical control for Garmin Marine systems

The vertical layout suits narrow installations, such as on an armrest, secondary console, or between two displays. The four favorite buttons can recall a saved system configuration. The GRID 20 also includes dedicated buttons for screen switching, autopilot engage/standby, and a dedicated SOS button.

Wired or wireless installation

The controller can be powered and connected via NMEA 2000 network, power cable with ANT link, or two AA batteries (not included) with ANT link. Garmin’s manual specifies that at least one GRID 20 must be wired to NMEA 2000 if multiple GRID 20 units are used and autopilot control access is required.

Check before ordering

Compatibility depends on the installed Garmin chartplotter and software. For proper integration, verify mounting location, rear access if batteries are used, and the presence of a NMEA 2000 network when a stable wired connection is required.

« Un vrai confort de commande pour les postes Garmin multi-écrans »

Le GRID 20 est pertinent dès que le poste de barre devient dense : plusieurs écrans, traceur déporté, console profonde ou besoin d’une commande tactile-free en navigation. La version verticale est surtout intéressante lorsqu’on veut l’intégrer dans un espace étroit. Je le traiterais comme un accessoire d’ergonomie Garmin haut de gamme, à qualifier avec le modèle de traceur et le mode de connexion prévu.
