Designed for navigation across a vast area from Mexico to the Caribbean and as far as Brazil, this Garmin marine chartplotter integrates detailed data for inland and coastal waters. It covers the U.S. Gulf Coast and the East Coast of the United States up to Savannah, GA, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the Windward and Leeward Islands, Jamaica, the Panama Canal, the west coast of South America as far as Arica, Chile, the Galápagos Islands, the Revillagigedo Islands, Ilha Fernando de Noronha, the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago, and the Rocas Atoll.
Integrated Features and Updates
This marine chart combines Garmin and Navionics® content, providing detailed mapping for coastal features, lakes, and rivers. Purchase includes a one-year subscription for daily chart updates via the ActiveCaptain® app or Navionics® Chart Installer software. Compatible with Garmin chartplotters, including GPSMAP® and ECHOMAP™ series, with the chart provided on a microSD™/SD™ card.
Enhanced Navigation and Customization
The charts feature vibrant colors, a simplified interface, and a Navionics® color palette to facilitate route planning. Users can customize their display with various chart layers and overlay combinations. Auto Guidance+™ technology offers suggested dock-to-dock routes, though this function is for planning purposes and does not replace safe navigation. The depth shading feature allows selecting up to 10 target depth color ranges to quickly identify fishing zones or navigate at specific depths.
Bathymetric Details and Safety
High-resolution contours down to 0.5 meters (1 foot) accurately represent seafloor structure, enhancing fishing charts and providing increased detail in areas such as marshes, channels, harbors, and marinas. Shallow-water shading allows setting a depth threshold to visually highlight areas to avoid. Access to the ActiveCaptain® community provides crowd-sourced content including points of interest (POIs) such as marinas, anchorages, hazards, and businesses. For certain U.S. waters, NOAA raster charts are available for free download via the ActiveCaptain® app.
Premium Features (Garmin Navionics Vision+™)
Premium features are available with Garmin Navionics Vision+™ chartplotter. These include high-resolution seafloor shading for a clear view of seafloor structure, high-resolution satellite imagery for improved situational awareness around harbors and marinas, sonar imagery revealing seafloor hardness, and Side-Scan imagery to identify submerged objects. MarinerEye 3D views and dynamic lake level adjustments are also offered for optimized navigation.
