Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to simplify system integration, the Garmin RJ45 female to BlueNet female network adapter (010-12531-11) enables connection of Garmin devices with a BlueNet connector to systems using the legacy Garmin Marine Network. This adapter is essential for hybrid configurations, ensuring compatibility between existing network technologies and Garmin BlueNet innovations.
BlueNet and Legacy Garmin Marine Network integration
The Garmin BlueNet network represents the evolution of the Garmin Marine Network, offering connection speeds up to 1 Gbps and compact, water-resistant connectors similar in size to NMEA 2000. In contrast, the Legacy Garmin Marine Network uses standard RJ45 connectors, less suited to marine environments and requiring large locking collars. This 010-12531-11 adapter is specifically designed to address this physical connector difference, enabling direct connection between the two port types.
Use cases and compatibility
This adapter is particularly useful for connecting certain Garmin BlueNet devices, such as OnDeck GTB 10 hubs, Fusion PartyBus™ compatible stereos, or IP cameras, directly to a Legacy Garmin Marine Network system without requiring a BlueNet 30 gateway. However, it is important to note that for most other Legacy Garmin Marine Network devices, a Garmin BlueNet 30 gateway remains necessary for full BlueNet network integration. The cable provides physical conversion from the RJ45 female interface to the BlueNet female connector, with a robust design ensuring reliable connections in marine environments.
